Ultrasound Technologist / Sonographer

Part-Time  ·  Urbandale, IA   ·  In-Person ·  Posted 7/14/2026

About the Role
As our lead sonographer, you’ll shape the entire ultrasound experience at MEND. You’ll take charge of each visit—welcoming patients, explaining what to expect, performing the scan, communicating with teleradiology group, and ensuring images and reports move smoothly to the patient and/or their provider. This role is designed for someone who can lead ultrasound independently, guiding the flow of the day with confidence and care. You’ll have real autonomy, trusted to run your schedule and make decisions, all while being part of a small, supportive team that values your expertise.

Schedule & Compensation
This is a part-time role, expect 8-15 hours per week with opportunity to grow. Hours are flexible and customizable to you/your family’s needs; hours will vary somewhat week to week based on appointments. Pay is negotiable based on experience.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Required
    • ARDMS certification (RDMS), with at least 1+ years of ultrasound experience
    • Experience performing general ultrasound scans (abdomen, thyroid, pelvic) and breast ultrasounds independently
    • Comfortable working solo in a small, patient-facing clinic
    • Strong communication skills and a calm, reassuring bedside manner
    • Comfortable communicating directly with referring physicians and their office staff on scans, reports, and follow-up requests
    • Able to pass a background check prior to starting
  • Preferred
    • OB ultrasound experience
    • Familiarity with teleradiology workflows, or comfort learning a new system
    • Interest in integrative or holistic health — not required, but a natural fit with our team.
